GEO & Opportunity Now and Think, Act, Report One Year On.

Last year the Government introduced the Think, Act, Report initiative. A voluntary approach to tackling and overcoming barriers that prevent organisations making the most of their workforce in an inclusive nature. Think, Act, Report encourages businesses to think about gender equality, take steps to promote equality and share their progress publicly.






The Government Equalities Office have partnered with Opportunity Now in developing the Transparency Award  category in the prestigious Opportunity Now Annual Awards, with BT being the first award recipient in 2012 who were presented with their award by the Home Secretary Theresa May who was at that time also the Minister for Women and Equalities.
Entries into this award are required to set out why  they are putting gender equality information in the public domain, the level of detail they provide and how the information is presented in addition to how they monitor and report progress.
Transparency Award 2013 is now open for submission

There are over 1 million employees working in 54 organisations from across a varies selection of  sectors companies that have signed up to Think, Act, Report, this represents 10% of the eligible workforce in the UK.

The following document details the proposed next steps with the overriding objective to be making publicly reporting on the comparative pay levels within an organisation the norm rather than just a nice to do.
