Diversity is firmly on the agenda at Diageo with a commitment from the Executive Committee to have at least 30% of senior leadership level roles globally held by women. Active programmes are in place to encourage and support the participation and development of women at all levels, drive female leadership development and increase the awareness of risks associated with unconscious bias.

Diageo also supports a number of employee groups including the Spirited Women network which operates in the UK, Ireland and North America. This network focuses on many areas of particular interest to women in the workplace such as flexible working, returning from maternity leave and mentoring.
At senior levels Diageo completes bi-annual talent reviews to ensure that women feature in all senior succession plans and are appropriately supported in moving through the business into the most senior positions.
Globally, Diageo recently launched the ‘Plan W’ campaign in Asia which aims to empower women in 17 Asian countries in which we operate. In North America Diageo was listed as one of Working Mother magazine’s top 100 companies in 2012, in recognition of flexible working, remote working, paid maternity leave and employee assistance programmes.
