Today (25 April 2018), 50 UK employers have been recognised for their leadership on workplace gender equality by being named in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2018. The Times Top 50 Employers for Women is published in partnership with Business in the Community as part of our Responsible Business Week.
The alphabetical and unranked list acknowledges UK employers that are making gender equality a key part of their business strategy, with a consistent commitment to creating inclusive workplace cultures and progressing women in the workplace across their organisations at all levels. The list involves a comprehensive submission process managed by the gender equality campaign team at Business in the Community.
Three organisations from the list have also been named as winners in the Business in the Community Gender Equality Awards 2018 as follows:
- Gender Champion Award: Val Risk, Fujitsu (Finalists: Post Office and Tideway)
- Game Changer Award: Accenture and Sky
Additionally, three further organisations – Barclays, HM Revenue & Customs and Hogan Lovells – have been announced as finalists in the Business in the Community Gender Equality Award 2018. The winner will be announced at Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Awards Gala 2018, in partnership with Anglian Water, Responsible Business 2017, in London in July 2018.
Chloe Chambraud, Gender Equality Director, Business in the Community, said:
“A huge congratulations to all the organisations in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2018 and to the Business in the Community Gender Equality Awards 2018 winners and finalists. They have shown their strong commitment to enabling men and women to contribute equally to society, understanding and addressing barriers to gender equality in the workplace, and recognising the benefits of having a diverse workforce at all levels. I hope that even more employers will follow their examples of best practice on this agenda.”
