Peer Learning Forum: Menopause in the workplace

Date:

Time: to

Venue:
London EC3

Kindly supported by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) participants will learn about the key workplace issues affecting women during menopause, how this impacts business and practical actions businesses can take.

The average age for reaching menopause is 511 and, with nearly 5 million women over 50 in the workplace today2, menopause is an issue of increasing importance for employers. 80% of women experience symptoms which impact on their quality of life3 and 25% of women surveyed said they had considered giving up work altogether as a result4. No two women experience menopause in the same way, so it is vital that employers find ways to effectively understand and respond to the support needs of women during this challenging transitional time in order to retain talent.

In this Peer Learning Forum, participants will hear what employers are doing in practice to support those experiencing menopause and we will be sharing evidence from new research being undertaken by leading academics in the field. Participants will learn about the key workplace issues affecting women during menopause, how this impacts business and practical actions businesses can take. There will also be an opportunity to share challenges and ideas with peers, plus develop plans for an event in your workplace to coincide with World Menopause Day on 18 October.
