Running for more than 20 years, the Business in the Community Gender Equality Awards are the UK’s most respected awards for gender equality in the workplace. The awards celebrate outstanding progress and examples of best practice, impact, innovation and individual achievement.
In 2018, we have three Award categories – the Responsible Business for Gender Equality Award, the Game Changer Award and the Gender Champion Award.
The winners and finalists in 2018 are:
Responsible Business Award for Gender Equality 2018
Organisations with particularly high performance across the whole entry process have been considered for this new and important title.
Assessment criteria for this award included: strategy and sustainability, impact and transformational change and innovation.
Finalists: Barclays, HM Revenue & Customs and Hogan Lovells
Winner: The winner will be announced at Business in the Community’s Responsible Business Awards Gala 2018, in partnership with Anglian Water, Responsible Business 2017, in London in July 2018.
Game Changer Award 2018
Gender Champion 2018
This award is for a senior executive who has made a remarkable contribution to championing gender balance and equality of opportunity in their organisation. It recognises an individual who has shown vision, leadership and enduring commitment to enabling female talent resulting in tangible and lasting culture change. Senior executive refers to senior managers and above.

The Times Top 50 Employers for Women
The winners and finalists also secured a place in The Times Top 50 Employers for Women 2017, which is published in a supplement in The Times. Twenty sectors are represented in the Top 50 list, including the arts, entertainment & telecommunications, financial services, legal, public sector and utilities sectors.
This alphabetical and unranked list acknowledges UK employers that are making gender equality a key part of their business strategy, with a consistent commitment to creating inclusive workplace cultures and progressing women in the workplace that covers their entire organisation at all levels. The list involves a comprehensive submission process integrated with the Business in the Community Gender Equality Awards entry process.
The Times Top 50 Employers for Women list is published in partnership with Business in the Community, the Prince’s Responsible Business Network, as part of the charity’s Responsible Business Week.
