International Women’s Day takes place on Wednesday 08 March, and this year’s theme is #BeBoldForChange – calling on everyone to forge a better, more gender inclusive working world. International Women’s Day is an important catalyst and vehicle for driving greater change for women and moving closer to gender parity, and this year’s theme aims to unleash women’s potential through people taking bold pragmatic action and purposeful collaboration.
Business in the Community’s Same But Different photography project aims to do just that by sharing the stories of women whose voices are rarely heard. The project includes an exhibition of photography by Leonora Saunders, with stunning imagery alongside intimate narratives. By sharing the experiences of working women whose experiences are least heard, Business in the Community aims to challenge the way working women are portrayed in the UK today and drive greater change for women at work – a great fit with the theme of International Women’s Day 2017.
The exhibition at City Hall, London is open until Friday 10 March 2017, free to enter and open to all.
Business in the Community is also asking visitors to contribute their experience of being a woman at work in the UK via the Same But Different website
