Shaun Wainstein

Shaun Wainstein is Head of Global Markets UK, Ireland and Nordics at BNP Paribas London. Shaun graduated with a PhD in Physics at Imperial College London, carrying out particle physics research at CERN. Shaun joined BNP Paribas in 1993, working initially as a
quantitative analyst on risk calculation methodology and was promoted to Head of Risk Methods in 1995. In 1997 Shaun moved to Equity Derivatives Trading, working on the European index exotics books until 2000. He was promoted to Head of Structuring Equity Derivatives
(EQD) London in 2001, and appointed Head of the EQD London platform in February 2006. In 2010, he was given the additional responsibility of managing the smaller Global Equities & Commodity Derivatives (GECD) platforms across Europe (Brussels, Milan, Geneva, Frankfurt and Luxembourg). In 2011 he was appointed UK Head of GECD, extending his oversight to Commodity Derivatives in addition to equity derivatives. In 2014, as part of the reorganisation of BNP Paribas’ Corporate & Institutional Banking, Shaun was appointed to the role of Head of Global Markets UK, Ireland and Nordics.
